It was an overcast day as Room 12 and Room 13 ventured to Mairangi Bay. Their focus was beach education and how to stay safe in possible dangerous places. Learning and following the ten rules of beach safety was their aim. The ten rules of beach safety:
1.Swim between the flags.
2.Have an adult watch over you.
3.Listen to advice from lifeguards.
4.Never surf or swim alone.
5.If in doubt stay out.
6.Be sun smart.
7.Learn to recognise rip currents.
8.Always use the correct and safe equipment.
9.Never swim when tired or cold.
10.Consider other surf users.

Zombie Part 5 By Ye Eun Won
The girl anxiously looked at the rotten zombie. She screamed and ran away like a frightened Chihuahua. She tripped over a branch and tore her dressing gown. She was shocked and nearly fainted but managed to get home quickly and safely. Then the zombie starred at her as she ran away. Everything began to freeze, as if someone had pressed the pause button in her life. The pause was broken when the zombie grunted. He did not know what to do so he climbed back into his grave and slept for another ten thousand years.

David's Poem
Pool water is full of chemicals.
Olympic teams swimming.
Outside or inside.
Lots of people splashing.
Waterfall into the diving pool.
Athletics in the water.
Transporting you to places.
Eating dirt when face first in the water.
Rain makes you wet.
Olympic teams swimming.
Outside or inside.
Lots of people splashing.
Waterfall into the diving pool.
Athletics in the water.
Transporting you to places.
Eating dirt when face first in the water.
Rain makes you wet.

Zombie. By YeEun Won Part. 2
Zombie continued.................Its dirty fingernail ruined the grave. He died two years ago. His other arm then rose from the earth, he smelt of decay. Lightning struck, the tree twigs and branches crackled and snapped. His head finally popped out and a lady's scream filled the air. The Zombie stood on the ground groaning about his aching back.

An Excerpt from 'Zombie' by Ye Eun Won. Part One.
The sky was gloomy. The air was stuffy and a sudden green mist rose slowly from the graves. The town clock struck twelve times. It was midnight and everything was silent. A surprising rumble struck as a wolf howled and growled. The clouds spread apart and a glowing full moon appeared. The ground shook rapidly and the graves were quivering as a skinny bony hand scratched the air................... to be continued.
